Unprovoked firing from the Afghan side was reported along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, prompting a strong and immediate response from the Pakistan Army.

According to security sources, Afghan forces opened fire at several locations, including Angoor Adda, Bajaur, Kurram, Dir, Chitral, and Baramcha in Balochistan. The firing reportedly aimed to help militants cross into Pakistan.

It is pertinent to mention that Pakistani military posts were already on high alert and responded swiftly and forcefully. The exchange of fire is still ongoing, according to initial reports.

Security sources confirmed that the Pakistan Army’s strong retaliation destroyed multiple Afghan border posts and resulted in several Afghan soldiers and militants being killed.

Officials added that many Taliban members fled their positions, leaving bodies behind in the affected areas.

It is pertinent to mention that this cross-border aggression took place while Afghanistan’s Foreign Minister is currently visiting India.
